Liner Notes
An important aspect of the choral art at Horseheads High is to provide the students with the opportunity to perform the many styles that are associated with singing today. Singing in a choral group should not be limited to learning music and then performing it; rather, it should be a studying, living and performing situation during every rehearsal. Music is an exciting art: and each day the Chamber Singers try to create for themselves those exciting musical moments, ones that will remain with them. In this album the Singers move through a variety of choral styles that they have experienced through the year.
The Jazz portion of this album was recorded live and it provided the opportunity for the Chamber Singers to appear with a professional jazz group . . . this was a natural evolution from the first two Jazz concerts at Horseheads. The joy and love of music that came forth that April evening will be part of their lives forever.
