Since it looks like a new Chuck record will soon be a reality, I thought it would be a good idea for a thread to list what tunes you hope show up on the new album.
My picks are: Self Portrait Pina Colada You're The Best There Is Sweet Butterfly Maui Waui Recuerdo

I'm hoping for new originals too.
I liked Everything for Love very much. there were some very pleasant songs on it.
But I hope that there will be some real killers on the new album. Something that has the impact and "wow factor" of Torreano, Echano, Love the Feeling, Song of the New Moon, He was a Friend of Mine, etc, etc. No need to limit the band to a combo.
I think that there is something to be said for new arrangements of older tunes though. For Example Leonardo's Lady was nicer the second time around. |

| I'd prefer new originals. If originals are out of the question, redo the best Columbia songs without the electronic garbage... Save Tonight For Me, Sweet Cheryl Lynn, Josephine, Love Wears No Disguise... and please redeem Shirley MacLain with an updated with no vocals as he originally intended before she grabbed the mic; then a few remakes from Mercury and A&M to finish it out. |

| Yes. I would like Chuck's next, new album to contain all original works. Also, I would really appreciate Chuck featured again with new vocal work(s) by Bat McGrath and/or Don Potter. In fact, it would be quite a treat for Chuck to put down a contemporary country music track with Bat and Don as a duo with strings and orchestra. If heavily promoted on country stations, it could become a big hit, I think. |

A fantasy Chuck album certainly would include a throwback style to the orchestra days. To me it's one of the things that made Chuck's music so unique and original.
I'm really hoping for new music though, whether performed with an orchestra or quartet.
It would be a WONDERFUL surprise should there be any tracks with Jerry and Coleman. Maybe a recording from a live concert? Fat chance, I'm sure, but it would be nice never the less. |

Personally I'd love to hear some original works. It would be nice if it was with a full orchestra but I doubt it because if the album does well I don't see the label paying for an orchestraed tour. Back in '79 I think Chuck did a big band tour and that was tough to pull off.

Chuck's management raised the possibility of it, which I copied to this thread about Chuck's 2010 schedule. |

As I've been reading through this thread along the way I was thinking there has been no official announcement. All we have to go on is Richard's note as a 'possible recording'... but it doesn't hurt to dream a little! |

| YES! And dream I will! I'm hoping for a full orchestra as well. I love the full sound of strings in the background. That would be so awesome. I, too, hope for some new originals, but it would be sweet to have some oldies mixed in with some new flair. |
